This
native of Cherbourg devoted
himself to
studies in painting by first
following
courses
at
the School of Fine
Arts before
obtaining
a
Masters in
Plastic Arts.
The
artist stresses that one should
avoid reducing his
paintings to
semantics: his
researchis pictorial
rather than conceptual .
That doesn't mean that his paintings
have no meaning, he says, rather it
underlines the fact that their horizon
is indescribable,
otherwise why paint
instead of using words?
He
paints a joyful, vital energy, which
he has the privilege to feel, and the talent
to transmit, he admits.
His improvisations, which are positive,
vivacious and organised in a harmonious
universe, communicate tenderness and
the sentiments of a childhood that can
be found again at will.
During
his frequent stays in New
Caledonia, he exhibits regularly at the Austral
Gallery in Noumea and his canvasses have
been the object of numerous exhibits notably
in the "Z Gallery" in Paris,
in the Berni
Gallery in Jersey but also in the galleries
of
Soho Pensacola in Florida, J.J. Brookings in
San Francisco, Alif Ba in Casablanca or Katia
Granoff in Honfleur .
